Alumni Spotlight: Manuel “Manny” Marshall ’04 – First Annual Fundraiser

The “Manny Marshall Fund” is a not-for-profit organization established in 2011 after the death of Manuel Marshall, who was killed in a tragic car accident while on his way home from New Jersey doing a good deed.

The Foundation is a multi-purpose fund and collaboration of family, friends, classmates, teammates, and fellow human beings who sorely miss Manny but are committed to capturing the ‘spirit and essence’ of his soul before his departure.  Manuel was an academician, gifted athlete, musician, and, above all, a loving and caring individual whose kindness knew few, if any, boundaries.  Befittingly, the foundation funds will be used to provide scholarships at Gonzaga College High School, aid student athletes at the University of Delaware, and provide activities for various youth ministries throughout the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

The motto of the Foundation is “you can never be too kind”.  This motto describes the way that Manny lived his life.  He would literally give the shirt off his back to help another human being.   The hope is to pass this way of life on to our youth.
